Hebrish: one home for my English-Hebrew speech models
Hebrish is my one-person, not-for-profit home for English-Hebrew speech models: Jachnun, Sabich, Shakshuka and the Whisper fine-tunes, free apps, open data and benchmarks, all at hebrish.app.
Voice typing that understands Hebrish
Speech-to-text mangles the Hebrew words English speakers in Israel use every day. Hebrish fixes that: free on-device apps for Android, Linux and Windows, the Jachnun and Sabich models, results, and how you can help.
Whisper Hebrish Small ACFT: a code-switching model for FUTO Keyboard
A phone-sized Whisper Hebrish for FUTO Keyboard on Android. It halves the stock English model's error rate on English-with-Hebrew dictation (11.8% to 5.8% WER) and imports as a single 264 MB file.
Whisper Hebrish v2 Released
Version 2 of Whisper Hebrish, my Whisper fine-tune for English with Hebrew words mixed in. Code-switching WER drops from 14.7% (stock turbo) to 6.7%, and there are whisper.cpp builds.
Can speech-to-text spell ‘makolet’? I tested seven models on Hebrish
English speakers in Israel talk Hebrish, and dictation software mangles the Hebrew words. I built an open benchmark to measure it: my fine-tune gets two-thirds of them right, off-the-shelf models a third to under half.

A point-in-time snapshot of the 16 models and 72 datasets on my Hugging Face profile, grouped by theme, from Hebrew-English code-switching to Jerusalem photography.
Teaching a podcast to say makolet: a classifier for Hebrew hiding in English
I released a small model on Hugging Face that finds romanised Hebrew words inside English text, so TTS voices like Chatterbox can stop reading them as English. Built for My Weird Prompts.
A few Hebrew fonts worth knowing about
A short tour of Hebrew fonts you can install today from Google Fonts — the workhorses, the formal ones, the handwriting, the deliberately weird, and the Rashi script.
Voxcast: a small voice-to-text app for when "send the email already" is the bottleneck
An open-source Android app that takes your voice and reshapes it into clean prose, polite emails, AI prompts, or Hebrew messages. Two presets are Hebrew-specific — useful for olim and anyone whose Hebrew register is a daily second-guess.
Hebrew Text-to-Speech: A Provider Comparison
A snapshot of Hebrew text-to-speech capabilities comparing voice quality across multiple TTS providers including voice cloning experiments.
Hebrew AI Models: A Comprehensive Catalog
A catalog of AI models for the Hebrew language — LLMs, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, NLP, embeddings, translation, and more.
