Awesome Red Alerts: Open Source Projects For Israel's Emergency Alert System

I've been curating a list of open-source and community projects that expand the alerting surface of Israel's Home Front Command (Pikud HaOref) Red Alert system. The list now covers 60+ projects across 15+ categories. Here's the full directory.

Important caveat: never rely on community projects as your primary alerting mechanism. The official and only reliable alerts are those from the Home Front Command.

Official Resources

Third-Party Alerting Services

  • Tzofar (צופר) — Popular alert app with Android, iOS, Chrome extension, WhatsApp channel, and web dashboard

  • Oref Map — Live geographic alert map with real-time visualization

  • RocketAlert.live — Live rocket alert tracker with map and history

Geo-Dashboards

API / Alert Feed Wrappers

There is no official public API for Home Front Command alerts. All projects here are unofficial wrappers built around internal data streams.
